Professional Bio
As a graduate of the Executive Management Programs at Columbia University and Harvard Business/Sloan-MIT and training at Pace University, I have garnered expertise in developing business and technology. For over 20 years, I have been at the forefront of developing future projected technologies. As Vice President of Business Development at Viador, I executed the largest business sale in Viador history to the Department of Education. I formed strategic partnerships with IBM, CSC, Oracle, and several large OEMs, including Compaq and HP. I managed annual operating budgets consistent with the overall business line strategy.
Leveraging this experience, I have started two successful companies, "The Synthesis Group," an information technology solution company specializing in process and application integration), and recently an interactive mobile marketing company Send_U Direct. Between [insert years here], I brought two companies public: [name companies here]. I served both publicly traded and privately held companies, from startups to revenues exceeding $7B.
In my work with HealthCare, Software Development and Support, Direct Marketing, and Education industries, I developed and implemented systems to measure satisfaction levels, analyze results, and promote changes to improve service. As a partner in a restaurant [name the restaurant] and an owner of a catering company [give the name], I developed strategic plans for the business line that balance growth, cash flow, and customer service objectives.
I have held several key executive and sales management positions at various technology companies, including Lotus Development Corporation/IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation, HP, Wang Laboratories, Massachusetts Water Resource Authority, and Keydata Corporation. Community-based initiatives have been equally crucial to honing my approach to business development. I served as Treasurer for the Fenway Community Health Center Board, as Director of the Greater Boston Business Council, and as a board member of the Boston Club and The Jamaica Hills Association Neighborhood Board.
I have a solid commitment to mentoring and teaching, which has given me insight into how to improve a customer's experience, the touchstone of my business practice. As an Adjunct Professor of Business at Cambridge College, I taught graduate students e-business, internet marketing, web strategies, and professional development. As an instructor of culinary classes for Whole Foods shoppers, I have learned that building strong relationships based on trust is essential in facilitating any change. And trust depends on providing transparency via clearly communicated plans evaluated with concrete metrics and constructive feedback.
My long and wide-ranging experience in business and technology has demonstrated my expertise in developing the infrastructure necessary for the successful expansion of early-stage [and mature?] companies. My deep joy for this work–my drive, persistence, professionalism, and ability to work independently–comes down to my willingness to roll up my sleeves to get the job done.
I have served on the board as Treasurer for Fenway Community Health Center, a Director of the Greater Boston Business Council, a Board member of the Boston Club and Jamaica Hills Association, and served on several community-based initiatives programs.
